The 4,392m snow-capped peak of Mount Rainier overlooks this still and peaceful loop trail. Follow the Naches Peak route through glacial meadows and flower-specked fields, all under the conspicuous face of the famous volcano.
At 4.5 miles, Naches Peak is the ideal afternoon adventure, crisscrossing the coastal Pacific West Trail as it winds through Washington State.
Parking can be found nearby at Tipsoo Lake along Route 410. And while this route is kid-friendly, the national park status means dogs will have to sit this one out at home.
